- Returned money from the State Patrol budget to Nebraska’s general fund to assist with the state budget shortage (2003)
- Supervised six statewide field offices and more than 50 satellite offices consisting of 700+ personnel with an annual budget of $41 million
- Worked closely with the legislature, state constitutional offices, federal agencies and state supreme court on a wide array of issues affecting Nebraskans
- Launched VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday), a service that notifies individuals, schools, daycare centers and religious/youth organizations about moderate risk offenders released or escaped from prison
